Ask Not Only What GoodToGoOut Can Do for You, But Also Ask What You Can Do for GoodToGoOut

Hey all,

I just started beta-testing my new style advice site, GoodToGoOut, last week and I’m looking for a few friendly people (especially those who do online shopping) to help give some feedback and work out the kinks.

The startup’s aim is to help our users achieve their style goals and create easier interactions, with greater value, between themselves and the people that can help them realize these goals, whether they be friends, other individuals in the GTGO community, brands or retailers.

Currently the focus is on helping shoppers on traditional e-commerce sites get fast advice on apparel and accessory purchases they’re considering, but soon the focus will expand to flash sale sites as well.

Right now, I’m seeking feedback on the look and feel of the site, it’s utility, and the image scraper feature we’ve developed. This feature makes it easier to ask questions about items by allowing users to add online images to their questions simply by pasting a web link into a field and selecting the appropriate image.

Any help you can offer would be appreciated and thanks for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments and please share with your friends (and even enemies) if you think it’s worth sharing.

Thanks,

Emeka Patrick

Complete Transition from Wordpress (and Why)…

Tumblr over Wordpress

Been thinking about it for a while but looks like I’m going to try and focus on the GoodToGoOut Tumblr blog alone. I was going to keep separate channels for different content, but besides being a bit much to maintain both blogs while working on the main site and trying living life a little bit I feel that Tumblr has the added bonus of pushing me towards brevity.

That being said, look out for all appropriate content to be gradually transitioned to Tumblr and (hopefully) a drastic reduction in the length of my correspondences as well.

Warm Regards,

Emeka

The image above represents the culmination of a lot of searching, debate, trial and error, questioning, and finally, by proof of its existence, some sort of resolution. It also represents the beginning of something new, and big.
It may not seem like much now, but this will eventually become a live sign up page to get on the invite list for the next release of GoodToGoOut. It will also help anyone who signs up spread the page to their friends via Facebook, Twitter and email, and it will host a contest (already determined, but not revealed) that will offer rewards to those most passionate about, and effective at, spreading the word about us.
This exists not just in the hope for more sign ups, but to help realize the goal of building a base of actual users. Users that are online shoppers with items in their carts who need an extra push forward or pull back before making a purchase. Users looking to find out a bit more or get a second opinion about a certain item, or assemblage of items, in a timely fashion. Or users simply looking to commune with others who possess a similar aesthetic sensibility
We’re hoping to connect with those that aren’t necessarily fashionistas, but have a sense of style or are in search of one of their own. We want to engage with style enthusiasts, or those in training, with those interested in what we’re doing and what we’re about, people that will soon become contributing members of the GoodToGoOut community.
I know it seems like a lot from what appears to be so little but it’s a major step in bringing this idea closer to a reality. I really hope you can see what I see and more so, I really hope you come along with me for the ride.

A sneak peek at the image behind Monday’s upcoming post. Deep breath…take it all in…exhale.
That’s it. See y’all Monday (or maybe sooner).
